5D4N Snow Monkey & Tokyo Travel Photography Trip

This exclusive itinerary is specially put together for photographers who may be new to Wildlife Photography. We incorporated the best of culture, city and wildlife together for a wholesome Japanese experience!

International Award-winning photographers, C.S.Ling and Ethan Lim bring you on an exclusive photography trip to experience the city, culture and wildlife of Tokyo-Nagano! The main highlight of the trip is to photograph the world-famous Snow Monkeys in Nagano! Not only do they know how to enjoy themselves in natural hot spring during winter, they are also the only species (other than humans and racoons) that are known to wash their food before consuming! Watch out as the fun-loving young monkeys chase each other in the snow and make snowballs with their hands to attack each other!

Back in Tokyo, enjoy a morning stroll in the beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen Garden and be captivated by the largest Shinto shrine in Tokyo, the Meiji Jingu. Free & easy in Shinjuku at night for your food and shopping conquests! Feel free to extend your stay in Tokyo after our 5D4N trip to enjoy more of what Japan has to offer!

The Itinerary

DAY 1 - We gather with all the participants at Tokyo Narita Airport at 1PM and meet our chauffeur who will take us to our first destionation - Meiji Jingu, the largest and most significant Shinto shrine in Tokyo. Soak up ancient Japanese culture while learning about the local flora and photographing wintering birds. It's home to a few flocks of wild Mandarin Ducks. Other common species are the Japanese White-eye, Grey Bunting and Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker. We leave the garden before it closes at 4PM and head towards Nagano. We will stay in a traditional Ryokan (japanese guest house/inn) for next 3 nights and enjoy scrumptious japanese home-cooked meals!

DAY 2 & 3 - Spend 2 full days photographing the very intelligent and adorable Japanese Macaques, also affectionally know as Snow Monkeys! Snow Monkeys of all ages can be seen relaxing in the natural volcanic hot spring! Tempted? you can also enjoy the natural hot spring in the small town area near our accomodation in the evening if you want ( not incuded in the workshop cost ^_^ ). 1 hr photo review session at night after dinner

DAY 4 - We check out of the Ryokan after a hearty breakfast and head to the Snow Monkey one last time. We will leave slightly before noon and head towards Tokyo. We will be staying in a contemporary serviced apartment-hotel at the heart of Shinjuku! Free and easy for the rest of the evening. Participants will be paying for their own meals. With lines of restaurants, sushi bars and pastry heaven to satisfy your taste buds to your heart's content, we wouldn't want to limit your food choices as we are in Tokyo afterall! :) 1 hr photo review session at night after dinner

DAY 5 - We go for breakfast followed by an early morning stroll & shoot in the Shinjuku Gyoen Imperial Garden. A quaint garden featuring 3 distinct styles - English landscape, French formal , and Japanese traditional gardens. Finally, we check out by noon and get ready to head to Narita Airport for our flights home!

3. We reserve the right to change our arrangements should conditions necessitate, or to cancel any aspect of the workshop due to exceptional circumstances.
4. In the event that we deem it necessary to cancel the expedition we will provide a full refund which the participant acknowledges as full and final settlement.
